Public Meetings & Policy Statement
FYI,on
Sept. 26, we published a Notice
extending the AIS comment period to from
Sept. 29th to Jan. 5th, 2004,
revises the questions posed, and,announces
a schedule for public
meetings in New Orleans (Nov. 5th),
New Bedford (Nov.13th),
and, Seattle (Dec. 5th).
On Sept. 29th, we published a Policy
Statement that states we will not enforce the VTS deadline dates
promulgated in our Interim
Rule until Dec. 31st, 2004. The forthcoming AIS Final Rule is
currently under
review at OMB, we anticipate it's publication in mid-Oct. Could
you please widely disseminate this information
to all concern. Should
