To avoid improper consolidation of targets, the range between targets, the trend of this range over the last few updates, the difference between targets’ COG and SOG values and their trends over the last few updates should all be selection criteria. Only targets that meet all these criteria simultaneously within narrow tolerances should be automatically consolidated.
